Accessibility
A reading should be available to anyone who wants one. This page states the standard Odin's Eye aims for, what is in place today, what is not there yet, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
Effective September 30, 2026
Our standard
Odin's Eye targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the same baseline Mithryl Labs uses for everything it builds.
What is in place
- Every part of the form and the reading can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline on each control.
- A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
- Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against the backgrounds it sits on.
- Form fields have real labels, choice buttons report whether they are selected, and the city search is exposed to assistive technology as a list of options.
- Errors, and the wait while a reading is written, are announced to screen readers.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the star field holds still and step transitions are removed. The loading spinner stays, because it tells you something is happening.
- The layout adapts from small phones to large displays and works with browser zoom.
Known limitations
- Some groups of choice buttons are not yet tied to their question in code, so a screen reader reads the question and the choices as separate items.
- The PDF download is a visual document without accessibility tags. The reading page itself is the accessible version.
- Writing a reading can take a few minutes. The wait is announced when it starts, but progress is not announced along the way.
- The site has been checked by keyboard and against the WCAG criteria in code. It has not yet had a full manual pass with VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, or TalkBack.
Report a barrier
If something here does not work for you, please say so. Include the page, the device and assistive technology you were using, and what went wrong.
We aim to reply within two business days, and can send a reading in another format if the site cannot give it to you.
